Internet Resources

While exploring EmergingEdTech's 2013 Free Education Technology Resources eBook,  I found many helpful topics that I found intriguing.  In chapter 2, I was interested to learn more about Google Drive and how I may used this tool as a teacher.  I was first introduced to Google Drive this semester by my Technology Apps For Teacher Professor and so far I'm finding it very convenient and easy to use.  In chapter 4, Educational Games and Gamification, I read about 7 Free Online Educational Sites because it helps the teacher determine whether the sourse they are using helps meet the requirements of a truly educational purpose. This is a great way to get the attention of your students, what is better to do that than combining gaming with learning.  A win, win situation.   I am constantly looking for Apps that can be used for educational purposes, especially in the math subject.  You can find more information on where to find Apps in my notes.  Chapter 7, iPads in Education, There are 15 Apps selected by teachers, this is useful in finding your own to use in your classroom.  In Chapter 15, Other Topics & Resources, 7 Online Resources For Funding Grants For Educators will help locate websites to utilize grants that are available and will no doubt be useful.

  1. I really liked the online book as well and really want to read more, I also feel that if teachers can make learning fun i.e. games of all kinds whether online or in the classroom even having the students make the games in small groups and then the students playing and rating the games would be an excellent way of motivating and teaching strategy. I also really liked the section on the Ipad apps for there are so many of them however I never thought of using the rubric to "grade" them as this article said to, and I will start to use that rubric.

  2. I found this post really great! I agree with you 100% on how much we have learned by taking this class. By using Google Drive, I have found how there is so much I can do with this application. It is something that I will forsure be using in my future classroom. I also agree with you on how iPads are great for children. Specifically, the educational apps. The educational apps are great for students to learn from but especially for those with disabilities. Since we are the future educators, it is important that we are prepared for the future. I think one of the things we should be prepared for is technology. Getting prepared now is what we must achieve which is why this Tech class is so important. Good job on the post.
